The express boat to Grip is within short walking distance of the quay. It only takes 30 minutes to get to the colourful island from Kristiansund.
The islanders lived there in harmony with nature and what the sea provided. The village’s picturesque houses and buildings have been built close together as in a small town, and a wonderful 500-year old stave church is set in among them.
We walk among the well-maintained small houses and pay a visit to the stave church dating from 1470, which has survived the elements through the centuries. We stop to visit the photo exhibition and (on request) for light refreshments (coffee and pancakes). Great view of Grip lighthouse.
