We experience the town at close range and local guides tell you about the history of the town, from a rich fishery town to the petroleum capital of Central Norway. We hug the shore of the old maritime district Vågen with its 19th century wharves and shipyards and get a close look at Norway’s biggest and busiest oil base. We tell you about the history of a region rich in trade and exports.
The Sundbåten boat is within short walking distance of the cruise ship quay. It has been in service between the town’s islands for more than 130 years and has become a trademark for Kristiansund. The small passenger ferries leave Piren quay in the town centre and shuttle between the town’s four districts.
Great embarkation facilities, also suitable for wheelchair users. The passengers can sit in comfort inside or on the sun deck. We do not go ashore but explore the town’s inner harbour from close up. Good photo opportunities.
