A country that is unquestioningly number 1 in terms of quality of life, at least the Norwegians themselves claim. I invite you to a discovery trip and hopefully I can inspire you to feel the same about Norway.   I guide in German.

The secret lies behind the mountains of Norway and that is exciting: “The deepest ..”, “the purest ..”, “the clearest ..” …   did you know that the water temperature 120km off the coast of Norway  is  -1,5c with a depth of 1000m?   You’ll find this out and even more, even my shoe size.   The whole family have been associated with Norway for 25 years. I guide in German.

That's rather easy to answer: yes, the love but the love for the country. Back in Germany studied ethnology and culture history and for my masters I had a primary focus in folk tales and fairy tales. And emigrating to Norway has always been a childhood wish anyway. So it was just a matter of time until I ended up here – and the job as a guide gives me the opportunity to get to all those beautiful places of western Norway and to show them to the people that come with me – and also I can tell them one or two troll fairy tales.

The most beautiful moments and tours for me are those where I go with a group into the deep wilderness of mountains and forests for a hike, away from the rather common tourist attraction. I love to show them what nature has in store.

The work as a Tour Guide allows me to show people the natural beauty of Norway and to tell them about the traditions, history, customs and many curiosities about Norway and the Norwegians.

Each year, I look forward to the summer so that I can resume this rewarding experience.

Das Geheimnis liegt hinter den Bergen Norwegens und das ist aufregend: “Die tiefste ..”, “die reinste ..”, “die klarste ..” … wer weiss schon, dass die Wassertemperatur 120km vor der Küste Norwegens bei  -1,5c liegt in einer Tiefe von 1000m? Die Antwort ist recht einfach: ja, die Liebe, aber die Liebe zum Land. In Deutschland studierte ich Volkskunde/Kulturgeschichte mit einem Fokus auf Erzählforschung im Masterstudium. Nach Norwegen wollte ich schon als kleines Kind auswandern. Also war das letztlich nur eine Frage der Zeit – und im Job als Guide habe ich nicht nur die Gelegenheit, die schönsten Ecken Westnorwegens selbst zu sehen, sondern sie auch Touristen zu zeigen – und ihnen dabei ein Märchen über Trolle erzählen.

Die schönsten Touren und Momente sind die, wenn man mit einer gut gelaunten Gruppe irgendwo im Hinterland die Berge und die Wälder beim Wandern erkunden kann, abseits von den üblichen Touristenattraktionen. Ich liebe es, ihnen dann die beeindruckende Natur des Landes zu zeigen.

Die Arbeit als Tour Guide ermöglicht es mir, den Menschen die natürliche Schönheit Norwegens zu zeigen und ihnen die Traditionen, die Geschichte, die Bräuche und viele Kuriositäten über Norwegen und die Norweger zu erzählen.

Jedes Jahr freue ich mich auf den Sommer, damit ich diese tolle Erfahrung wieder aufnehmen kann.
