Embark on a scenic day trip through wild mountains, thundering waterfalls, and tranquil nature, beginning in Ålesund, the largest town on Norway's northwest coast. Ålesund is renowned for its stunning location on several islands extending into the sea. In 1904, much of the town was destroyed by fire, but it was rebuilt in the elegant Art Nouveau style that defines the early 20th century. Our journey starts in Ålesund and continues along the beautiful Storfjord, passing through Sjøholt. A stop at the Kokarsteinen Viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. Next, we head toward Stordal, where we'll pause for a photo at the exquisite 200-year-old medieval "Rose Church."From Stordal, we travel along the Norddalsfjorden to the charming village of Valldal, famous for its strawberries. We’ll make another stop at the spectacular Gudbrandsjuvet, a dramatic gorge where the foaming river plunges deep below. The gorge is just 5 meters wide but 25 meters deep, making it an impressive sight. As we continue, we enter a mountain world of eternal ice and snow, reaching the high plateau of Trollstigen. Here, we’ll take a breathtaking break at two viewing platforms, offering magnificent views of the famous Trollstigen serpentine road, renowned for its dramatic curves and stunning surroundings.
