A wonderful experience for landscape- and nature lovers with the combination of Norway’s amazing Atlantic Ocean Road, a beachfront hike at Farstadsanden and regional history with the fishing village Bud.
We reach the charming landscape of Farstadsanden after one hour bus ride and experience a guided nature walk towards the Nordnes lighthouse via varied trails. It starts with a flat part on the beach, which is popular among the locals for swimming in the summer, but is also an attraction for surfers. The path continues through a kind of tundra landscape with slight inclines until we reach our bus again after an hour's hike. We then continue towards the Atlantic Ocean Road, another highlight of this excursion. The Atlantic Ocean Road was voted “Norwegian Construction of the Century” in 2005, ranks among the world’s most famous road trips. It took over six years to complete the roadway and its eight bridges linking the Romsdal Peninsula with the isle of Averøy, even though it is just over 5 mi / 8.2 km long. Here, low, curved bridges wind over the open sea and guarantee passers-by a fantastic view. After the bus ride and the photo stop on the Atlantic Road, we continue to the picturesque village of Bud, which is a typical fishing village and which, in addition to the typical Norwegian culture, also tells a living story associated with Fort Ergan. The tour ends again in Molde.
Notes: There is approximately 3 mi / 5 km walking over uneven terrain. Sturdy walking shoes, a lightweight water-repellent jacket, and comfortable clothing are recommended. This program is not wheelchair accessible.
