A walk through Trondheim is a journey through its 1000-year history.

Trondheim's harbour was developed during the second half of the 19^th century. The tour starts at the train station and continues to a modern part of the city called Solsiden (the sunny side) where many students spend their free time  sitting outside the cafés. We continue along the river Nid and the colorful warehouses, with opportunities for great pictures. Then we enter the area of ​​the town called Bakklandet, which has managed to preserve its charming wooden architecture. Originally this was the industrial part of the city, but now the old factories have been renovated into desirable homes surrounded by grocery stores and gourmet restaurants. This is where you will also find the world's only bicycle lift.

We leave Bakklandet across the famous old city bridge with its red gateway, known to locals as the "happiness portal". Then we come to Stiftsgaarden, the royal residence in Trondheim, and continue to the market square to take a closer look at the statue of the city's founder, the Viking King Olav Tryggvason, which towers over this busy square. From here we end the tour at Nidaros Cathedral, Norway's national monument which is built over the burial place of St. Olav, Norway's patron saint. The construction of this enormous building with countless details and decorations, began as early as 1070.
